Alex Bezerra

Hockey Canada High Performance Coach | Certified Skills Instructor

A Mississauga native, Alex Bezerra brings over 15 years of hockey expertise spanning playing, coaching, and executive leadership. A product of the GTHL and OJHL as a player, he has since dedicated his career to developing talent across all levels of the sport.

Coaching & Leadership Highlights:

- Professional Experience: Served as Assistant Coach for the Cincinnati Cyclones (ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres), contributing to professional player development.

- Junior Hockey: Held leadership roles in the OJHL as President of the Georgetown Raiders and General Manager of the Burlington Cougars, driving organizational growth and player pathways.

- AAA Development: Coached with the Toronto Marlboros, North York Rangers, Toronto Red Wings and Mississauga Senators, coaching Bantam (U15), Minor Midget (U16), and Midget (U18) AAA teams while fostering future NHL and NCAA talent.   In his return to Ontario in 2023/2024, Alex took on roles with the Oakville Blades (Player Development) and Reps Hockey Club U18 AAA Program.

Alex will assume the role of General Manager of the Mississauga Jets; tasked with revitalizing one of the GTHL’s most storied franchises, focusing on rebuilding programming and community engagement.  Additionally, he will continue his coaching and managerial duties with the Mississauga Chargers (OJHL), bridging grassroots and junior hockey excellence.   A proven leader with a player-first philosophy, Alex combines technical expertise with a passion for fostering sustainable hockey ecosystems in the GTA and beyond.×
